Thank you to all who took the time to like or post a comment on mine, Kristies, or Kolbys pages in reference to Korinnes birthday yesterday. Obviously, celebrating her birth can be bittersweet as it always brings back so many memories, some wonderful and some not so pleasant. I have learned through the years to channel my energy into positive avenues as a means to honor Korinne and the life she led. While I do not pretend to fully understand, agree with, or like Gods plan and why things happen the way they do, I try not to question it, and I abide by it. But, this I do know, beyond a shadow of a doubt. In her fourteen years of life and her almost thirteen years of death, Korinne has touched the lives of far more people than most of us could ever imagine having an impact on in our entire lifetimes. In death, by being an organ and tissue donor, she immediately saved the lives of five strangers and dramatically enhanced the quality of life of countless others. Her corneas gave sight to a blind man. He now has the most beautiful eyes imaginable! Her story has literally been heard by millions and no, that is not an exaggeration, and there is no way of knowing how many additional lives she has saved and affected as a result. In this season of celebration of our Lords birth, I take solace in the fact that just as Christ Jesus was sent to this world as a savior, Korinne too fulfilled that mission in a human way. I can think of nothing more Christ-like. Gods plan....2 Corinthians 5:7 & John 15:13.
