Thank you to everyone who is stepping up and donating for Champion. Our team visited him today at the vet. They did not conduct his surgery today and he is scheduled for Monday due to his anemia and heavy heavy, heavy load of hookworms. He did NOT need a blood transfusion today...YAY. Day by day we will know more. The vet was inundated with one emergency after the next, so we basically sat with him, held him, and walked him around. He is gaining strength but still weak. He did drink water for us...YAY! His eyes are bright. He knows he is safe. I know many people are very curious about his progress, but the vet cannot handle the phone calls and people coming to visit. They have their own clientele and emergencies they are handling. I please ask that people refrain from calling, visiting, and posting second hand information. We are on top of this situation and will post the information daily as we receive it. It is helpful to share any information you want from our rescue page or my personal page. If people have questions, it makes it difficult to trace Champion back to the rescue whom is ultimately responsible for the well being of this boy. I thank each of you from the bottom of my heart for caring about this boy...he is truly VERY SPECIAL and everyone that comes in contact with him falls in love with him. We are getting a tremendous response of people who want to adopt Champion as well. This will not even be a consideration until several months down the line. We have a long road of surgeries and rehabilitation with him still to come. Thank you for understanding. Our focus today is getting him through each day one by one. We dont know what the future holds but the vet followed us out tonight and said.....Ï was very concerned when he came in that he wouldnt make it.....I am very hopeful tonight! And on that note my dear friends, keep sharing the fundraiser, keep Champion in your praters and hug all your babies very tight tonight. In the name of rescue, Julie and the MAMS Family
