Thank you to everyone who supported the quarter sales tax referendum with your vote, your time, and your talent. While this is a disappointing outcome, I am committed to working with our funding partners in the General Assembly and our Board of County Commissioners to find a way to increase pay for teachers and public education employees. Competitiveness of pay and retention of highly effective teachers are key to providing a world class education for our children. Whether you supported the tax increase or not, please take a moment today to thank a public school employee for all that they do. Their work is the foundation of our future. Its a Herculean task and they deserve our appreciation.
