Thank you to my Lord and Savior for guiding me and sustaining me over the last 18 months. I am living proof that all things are possible through Christ. Thank you so very much to my wife, Shayne. Attorney, wife, mother, spokesperson, copy editor, campaign manager, and friend. How she has managed to keep up with her job as an attorney while still getting us to the kids activities and pointing me where to go and reminding me when completely escapes me. She blesses me beyond measure. Thank you to my parents for raising me to be the person I am today. One of the best decisions I made was asking my father to be my treasurer because he was actually willing to be my treasurer. And he flew me around the state so I didnt fall asleep on the road. And I had no better campaign volunteer than my mother who would pitch me to anyone who would listen. And thank you to so many people without whom I could not have accomplished any of this. There are two ways to regard all the help I received from people across the state. You could look at every kind word and think, Man, I must be pretty awesome. Or you could look at it as I do and see that at the end of the day, my contribution was pretty paltry compared to what others have done for me. It is a bracing realization to say the least. But it serves as a valuable reminder that I have been elected to serve the citizens of Texas. Thank you all for this opportunity. I will work very hard to make you proud of your support for me.
