Thank you to so many, over 50!, who have sent texts, called, Facebooked, etc., to ask about my mama in the last few days and to check on me. I cannot express my appreciation enough. 1 Thessalonians 5:25 I know I havent returned all of the calls or texts, but I want you to know how much I appreciate the prayers. The purpose of my trip is single-focused (with a few silver linings!). Romans 8:28 Today was the same. Better in many ways. Worse in a few. I got to spend most of the day with Mama by myself, which is a blessing. I stayed until she fell asleep and kissed her on the forehead. She opened her eyes wide open and said, I told you to go to bed, Jami Bernice! Truthfully, today reminds me of so many missed opportunities. Philippians 3:13 The beauty is that she seems very peaceful, but also very confused. She doesnt know whats wrong. And she doesnt know where she is. Both of those are actually blessings. Isaiah 45:3 So, the prognosis is still the same as we received Thursday. She is nearing the end of this life. I dont think the end of her life is going to be today or tomorrow, but several weeks to months as her kidneys and liver issues progress and as her heart still needs attention. But Im thankful Im able to spend time with her while shes in this frame of mind. God is good, and his timing is perfect.
