Thankful Day #7... Today I am grateful for my mom. When you are raised by young parents you get to watch them grow up as you grow up. The first age I can remember my mother being is 28 years old. I dont remember why that specific age stuck, but it did. And all those years later I look to my mom as an example of how God can reframe, shape and use our recycled materials to make us NEW. He can change us if we are willing. Watching her life gives me hope - because she serves a God who sees us in truth. I am thankful for her love, her prayers, her tears, her words, her wisdom, how much she loves my kids, how she defends and accepts my husband, how much she apologizes and how she defends the defenseless. I am grateful that she has been present and strong - at the birth of our first baby, at the loss of friendship, during difficult conversations, when Dad let me preach.♥ I will always remember the words she prayed in that tiny prayer room off the sanctuary that Sunday morning - that I would have a strong spine. You gotta be careful when you pray those words over your daughter. I am thankful for her consistent love.
