Thankful God allowed me to become a paraplegic. 29 years ago I was unconscious in a hospital with a broken back. Glad God sparred my life, sparred the life of those we almost hit on an ice covered road and sparred the life of my two friends in the same truck as we crashed through the railing and down over a large bridge. I went over the abyss and starred hell in the face and chose to trust Jesus Christ as my Savior. For by God’s grace He saved me through faith, and not by anything I did, but it is truly a gift allowed by God. Thankful for God’s forgiveness and renewal of spirit within me to allow the bones that He broke to rejoice and to feel joy and gladness. Thankful to God to allow my high school sweetheart to stick by my side for months in the hospital and marry a disabled teenager. Even though told by doctors I would not have children, thankful God blessed us with seven. Thankful for the “accident” of fate that facilitated life. My “thank offering” today is to put on a worship service today with my wife and three youngest children at an assisted living facility for those with no one in their life and visit the lonely and forgotten. I know what it is to be broken, bruised, twisted and confused. But I cried unto the Lord in my trouble and He delivered me out of my distresses. He can do the same for you. Oh that men would praise the Lord for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to us! (Psalm 107)
