Thankful for little things! Today I set time to help. Jessica Bates make the baby blanket for Annas crib, I only promised about a year ago to help her make it. So she came over this morning, we got the size and finished design figured out. Heather and Cate came to watch kids while we sewed. Heather fixed lunch for everyone. After Heather and Cate went home and Jess was sewing the last seam, I came upstairs and decided to boil water in the pot the Mac and cheese was made in for lunch, so picked it up put it on the stove and turned the burner on high, then went back down to check on the sewing. Next I told Jess, there must be some of whatever was on the burner yesterday still on there burning off, guess I better go check it I found the burner smoking and a few flames, so picked up the pot and set it off to pour soda on the burner, only to find a cotton knitted pot holder stuck to the burner, I got all the fire out with baking soda, scraped the pot holder off the burner, opened doors and turned on the exhaust fan. The only fatality was the pot holder! Oh well I know how to knit another one. Jess got the blanket done and Jonathan got to make his first sewing project, he made a hat for Aaron. I told him, you are sewing on the machine Papa bought for me when your dad was 4 years old,. He said, wow it is really old! Paul just got home, and said, are you smoking something?
