Thankful for the grace, mercies and favor of God!! I have had some good news, and bad news today, but thankfully it wasnt worse than it was.... I had a furnace inspection done this morning because the furnace which heats my upstairs bedrooms wasnt kicking out hot air, it was lukewarm at best... The furnace for the downstairs was heating properly, but I had been noticing my heating bills steadily increasing over the past year, but I just attributed it to inflation and the high cost of natural gas. The technician upon inspection found that I was loosing heat because of a faulty heat exchanger on the furnace for the upstairs and was losing at least 60% of my heat, the other thing he shared was a 33ppm carbon monoxide leak coming from the same furnace, and the same problems were beginning with the other furnace as well... Thank God for the problem because I would probably had never known until carbon monoxide emissions became even higher and eventually working its way upstairs. The interesting thing is I spend the majority of my time when I am home, down in my basement (man cave) and could have been easily overcome when falling asleep while chilling... I now have 2 crews replacing both furnaces, and may be out of a few dollars, but I will feel safer not only for me, but for my family, and anyone who comes to visit, as well as lowered gas bills, and some good heat finally.... Oh btw, I do have carbon monoxide detectors on the main and uppers floor of my home, but never replaced the one in the basement when it was damaged in a flood we had a while ago. If you havent checked your furnaces, please have them checked/inspected and cleaned if necessary, last but certainly not least, have working carbon monoxide detectors on each floor of your home, especially near the furnace.
