Thanking God for all he does and another day! Today is: Culinarians Day: a special day for anyone who cooks. That means just about everyone of us get to celebrate this day. You dont have to be a chef, or a graduate of a culinary institute to celebrate this delicious day. You simply have to cook, and to enjoy the results. Lumberjack Day: The history of this celebration dates back to the mid-2000s when Marianne Ways and Colleen AF Venable decided it was time to honor this venerable profession. Venable herself worked as a lumberjack although she has admitted that the original idea for the day was conceived as an excuse to go out and eat pancakes and waffles with friends. Lumberjack Day has caught on though and is now celebrated by many. Anyone that wants to join in can organize a party for friends and family where the idea is for everyone to dress up in the cliché lumberjack style of plaid shirts, boots, suspenders, and beards. National Talk in An Elevator Day: There’s something unnerving about standing silently in a crowded elevator (or a lift)… It’s a brave person who breaks the uncomfortable silence – so Talk In An Elevator Day is dedicated to plucking up our courage and making polite small take whilst riding the lift! National System Administrator Appreciation Day: the last Friday in July, it is also known as Sysadmin Day, SysAdminDay, SAD or SAAD. Your network is secure, your computer is up and running, and your printer is jam-free. Why? Because youve’ve got an awesome sysadmin (or maybe a whole IT department) keeping your business up and running. Video Games Day: take some time to appreciate the technological achievements of the video game industry. Think about how far we’weve come since the days of the original Nintendo and Game Boy. Today’s games have advanced special effects and diversified themes that appeal to almost everyone. Video games aren’t just for kids anymore. In fact, they have become very popular as group activities at parties. People crowd around televisions in homes and dorm rooms to battle their friends in adventure, sports, and music-themed competitions. National Hot Fudge Sundae Day: the perfect treat to enjoy on a summer night. The cold ice cream paired with a warm, chocolate topping is one of the most delicious combinations known to man. Add some nuts, whipped cream, and cherries on top and you’ve got yourself a world-famous dessert! The Guinness Book of World Records has documented several record-setting sundaes. For example, the most expensive sundae can be ordered at Serendipity 3 in New York City for the hefty sum of $1000. In 2009, the Kids Club in Brunswick, Georgia created the world’s longest sundae. It measured over 130 feet long! So....great day for all of us who love to cook! Sotry something new today! YUMM! Hug a lumberjack and your Systems Admin! Talk up a storm in the elevators - I like to walk in and NOT turnaround! Face the people- not the doors! Ha! Try it! Play some video games! Crush some candy or make new words with friends! Why not just enjoy a Hot Fudge Sundae! MMMM! Whatever you do, make it fun! If you see Angel King, Suzanne W Maxey or Larry Wade II be sure to wish them a Happy Birthday! I loveyall! Have a happy Friday and great weekend!
