Thanking a veteran for your freedom is like thanking a rapist for your virginity. To those of you who find these words offensive, I ask you to set aside your emotions and explain why this analogy is false or exaggerated. Soldiers receive their pay from the theft of your wages, or what we euphemistically refer to as taxation. If you refuse to pay taxes on your income you will be kidnapped and thrown into a cage, if you refuse arrest you will be killed. Freedom OF choice and freedom FROM choice are two different things, if you were legitimately free you would have the opportunity to refuse taxation without the unsavory consequence of being arrested or murdered by agents of the state. Having the freedom of choice to pay taxes or be arrested or murdered is not being free, it is being forced to make a decision based on a certain set out outcomes. Freedom is not having an outcome regardless of the choice. Thus, it is a conclusion reached by anyone adhering to reason and logic that veterans (and active duty soldiers alike) are stealing your freedom and enslaving you to paying their wages. The truth is the truth, soldiers fight for your slavery and they are the last people we should thank for our freedom, a freedom that they themselves participate in taking away.
