Thanks Brett for offering me the access to this platform. Well, some of you I seem to know. I have been occupying with seed-sowing of orchids for more than 12 years and had a company running for that. Due to a divorce all went down as the sowing-procedure, caring for the flasks, the seed-bank, … was only possible to manage when all family members worked together. What is left are thousands of seed-packages, almost species only, some older but still stored frozen, some I still got sent the last 1, 2 years over. I am thinking it over to open the seed-bank now for sowing-beginners like for experienced nuts as well. But mainpoint for my registering here is taking a look if my heart can still be warmed for what I occupied with once. Unlikely LaminarFlow will raise again to the same size it once had sowing more than 2.400 different orchid species from all tropical and subtropical areas of the world. This cannot be managed by a single person alone but contacts to Botanical Gardens are still vivid and I never poured sent seeds away, still processed them for a possibly sowing taking place anytime in the future or even never. Anyway I am thinking it over to restart with some genus if it makes sense at all but only in a very limited way, some Dendrobia of the section Oxyglossum, some of those Angraecoids LaminarFlow began once and helped with to launch or with Disas from the Table and Drakensberg Mountains, valleys as well. I will read through the different threads and will publish a list here if I will find it worth doing. Bye Matthias Knoll (LaminarFlow – Austria) ps: some pictures of orchid seeds - I keep the seed of Vanilla foliosa still amazing, its germination was pretty easy but anyhow sad that such a pretty seed-corn will be destroyed by the procedure of a germination. ;)
