For those who do not think gun violence is a public health issue, go to apha.org and look at their fact sheet on Gun Violence and how public health and epidemiology can help prevent and reduce deaths. Now why would anyone be against such an objective? But of course the NRA is a part of that dominant culture that numbs us to the truth and suffering of others and tries to control us with their rhetoric based in the idea that nothing will or should ever change and is therefore hopeless. Having worked in public health during my career, of course these methods are helpful and can work! We would do well to have a Surgeon General with this mans knowledge and leadership.
