While many of us black folks are pretty much confused about a lot of things, in spite of the establishments constant propaganda, we tend to naturally embrace who we are, what we do, and how we do it. For example, Mr. Williams taught his girls, Venus and Serena, how to embrace who they are first, and be damn to outsiders that attack them for it, and they are quite successful, thank you. Now theres another healthy sister on the tennis circuit horizon, with her own style, kicking ass on the courts. The late and beloved Maya Angelos statement is so true: Still we rise. Hip-hop, Ebonics and black culture play out-sized roles in defining America, just like blues, jazz, gospel and rock-and-roll. You crush it, you crush America. And heres the painful reality for people severely suffering from racism: You crush us, you crush America. Even now, the stupidity of some people with political power fail to understand the consequences of bending rules and breaking laws to oppress black folks is hastening the doom and destruction of what might have been a road to a pretty decent society. Now were on the road to being a country full of banana republics, super rich living in sheltered bubbles, with their insecurities and anxieties, with lots of money and no life, and super poor masses struggling to survive.
