Thanks Judy Dixon Gabaldon.... Notice this is from right wingers (self professed) My take on the whole thing is slightly different. I see no real WAR ON CHRISTMAS. They always blame liberals, claiming we want to take Christ out of Christmas or that we want to stop people from saying Merry Christmas. Thats bullshit. Liberals love the holidays too. Sure, I sometimes gripe about excess commercialism, but you know, it helps the economy. It is also a generally positive thing for people to just relax, and enjoy, and be festive from time to time. If you ever study a little religious anthropology, it is a human need to relax and unwind and ENJOY one another. Enjoy the beauty, the celebration, the mood of conviviality and cheer. But War on Christmas? BULLSHIT. I dont see it. Certainly not in my community. And yes. I sometimes say Merry Christmas, too. A lot in fact. All I ask for is RESPECT. Show some decency and respect for those with other culture, other traditions. That is a lot of the liberal concern. Think about it. Showing respect to others builds good karma for us. It is how we would want to be treated if we were a minority, in some land.
