Thanks Lara Horton for nominating me to pick 10 books that I like/love! Heres my list: 1. Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë. My favorite book, one of the few that Ive read over 100 times at least. I love the characters and themes! Someday I wanna adapt it into a movie! Fingers crossed. 2. Ivanhoe by Sir Walter Scott. Probably because Sir Wilfred of Ivanhoe is the best hero in history. 3. Gabriela, Clove and Cinnamon by Jorge Amado. Never read a book that made me want to interact with the characters and tell them what to do and what was going on behind their backs. 4. And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie. Christie is my favorite writer, and this specific tale about strangers that end up on an Island is just her great masterpiece. I love how the book is divided into eight parts and each part is about one of the 10 characters who are trapped on the island. 5. Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtry. The greatest Western story ever told. One of my inspirations to write Westerns and it made me wanna be a cowboy even more. 6. A Dogs Will by Ariano Suassuna. Technically its a play... but in my opinion plays are also books! This is the funniest thing Ive ever read in my life. Suassuna really gets dialog like no one else. Reading this book is like tele transporting yourself to the Northeast of Brazil during the Cangaceiros era. 7. Epitaph of a Small Winner (The Posthumous Memoirs of Bras Cubas) by Machado de Assis. I love how the chapters are short, how they change in tone and style and how the author uses a non-linear storyline as we follow the dead protagonist, Bras Cubas, as he recaps his life, hsi mistakes and his love affairs. 8. The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. Santiagos journey through Egypt is exciting, dream-like and makes me want to go on an Adventure. Also, it was one of the first books Ive read. 9. Sophies World by Jostein Gaarder. The greatest book to introduce someone to philosophy. I think this was one of the first books Ive read in school that I really loved. Its also that kind of book that I give people as a gift if they never read it before. 10. O Reizinho Mandão (The Demanding Little King) by Ruth Rocha. Okay, its a childrens book, but its very nostalgic to me and I still remember reading it for the first time. It tells the story of a spoiled little boy who becomes a King! Its just awesome, it has a moral and it teaches kids a lot of stuff! Yey! Now, I challenge Joe Stevens, Jessica Moço Novais, Carolina Nigro, Anna Ascoli, Rodney Pereira Jr and Mariana Alvarez (pessoal do Brasil pode escrever em Português ok? É pra listar 10 livros favoritos!!!)
