Thanks Priyans Murarka :) Some Facts about PS and TS: 1. You dont need to do PS-1 to do a thesis. 2. You *have* the flexibility to drop out of PS-1 and PS-2, to do a Thesis (on campus / off campus) 3. If you drop your PS-1, and do not do it even after your 3rd year, they will be forced to give you thesis wherever you want. 4. If you convert from PS to TS and if you have done a PS-1 it will count as an elective. 5. If you convert it before doing your PS-1, then you need to do the same number of electives as you should be doing for a degree with PS-2. 6. Credits for graduation for a student with thesis is less than the credits needed for graduation for a student with PS (Since Thesis is 15 credits and PS-2 + PS-1 is 25 credits). So students need not do more electives to graduate. 7. Thesis in simple words is a research project for 6 months or so under a faculty, on campus or off campus. 8. Students ideally need to do original research on the topic of their choice. (Obviously the faculty needs to approve that topic). 9. Students with low CGPA, this is your best bet to avoid a not so good PS-1 and eventually not so great PS-2 stations. Take up thesis, and do what you like! Spread awareness!! :)
