Thanks Stephanie De Aguiar my beautiful friend for bringing this to my attention. I felt I needed to share my thoughts from my prospective...the girl in the picture without a name or right to speak her mind and heart till now..... Humans are so superficial and only past judgment from what appears in front of them...when I see this man I look inside and feel compassion and pain in the fact he is probably struggling in life to love himself and care for his health due to his own personal story which could be anything!! He’s probably over worked and stressed trying to support his family and has never been given the best tools in life. The fact that he will probably get diabetes, heart disease and other illness which were all preventable through lifestyle changes… Or maybe I’m completely wrong and this is just my judgment…only the man in the picture knows his journey. On the other hand I can personally comment on the picture taken on the right because that image is me... since a little girl I always felt out of place in main-stream society and what has been described in this picture as manly due to the fact I was brought up on clean food, lived in the bush and climb trees since the age of 2 and genetically my mother and grandfather had the same physique and so when that pic was taken in 2007 thats just how I looked everyday...so society has labelled me a particular way because of how I look, however, I have come to realise I’m the only one who can look in the mirror and decide my own reality and self-perception. It wasnt until I truly connected with myself on the inside and learnt to love myself that it didnt matter anymore what I looked like on the outside or what society labels me because for once I truly believed in myself as a woman. I can only wish this strength for others and especially other women in today’s society…never stop believing in how beautiful and unique you are and treat other with love, compassion and acceptance.
