Employees at VIU support each year the initiatives funded through United Way...and there is one week left for VIU employees to give! When VIU employees give annually over 26 pay periods, people’s lives change for the better. If you haven’t visited the Payroll Deduction page, please click here to help us reach our campaign goal of $30,000: www2.viu.ca/unitedway/give.asp Some quick stats: * If 150 employees gave $1 per pay, $3,900 would be raised to support programs like the teen centres that help marginalized youth create positive relationships. $1 per pay totals an annual employee gift of $26. * If 100 employees gave $2 per pay, $5,200 would be raised to support programs that help women who are survivors of abuse. $2 per pay adds up to an employee gift of $52. * If 75 employees gave at $5 per pay, $9,750 would be raised to support counseling programs through local Friendship Centres that help people through suicide prevention and grief counseling. $5 per pay equates to an individual gift of $130. * If 50 employees gave at $10 per pay, $13,000 would be raised to help people without health benefits get tooth extractions through dental clinic programming. $10 per pay is an employee gift of $260. * If 35 employees gave at $20 per pay, $18,200 would be raised to help kids with disabilities have a better quality of life with therapeutic riding programs. $20 per pay totals an annual employee Leader Donor gift of $520. When you give to United Way, your gift stays local; it serves people right here at home. Proceeds from the VIU Employee Giving Campaign will support more than 21,500 people through 94 programs.
