Thanks all who enjoyed my photos, I appreciate your comments. I am having such a wonderful time here with Joni and Kenny in Trussville/Birmingham. Ive been here for more than two weeks, something I have never been able to do because Ive always been a working gal. The photo opportunities in this area are so abundant, and it just makes me a WILD PHOTOGRAPHER! She drives, I shoot. Also, the restaurants/cafes/pubs/bakeries/are awesome. Yesterday we had lunch in Mountain Brook (Brick & Tin) following a photo shoot at an old mill, private home, occupied by an interesting eccentric lady, returning from walking her two dogs, who spoke to us for quite some time while her dogs barked at us. lol. The beautiful setting was across a large creek, with access by a foot bridge (parking on the street). Her stories were very interesting, and so was her jewelry! Following lunch, we headed to Sloss, the steel mill upon which Birmingham (Steel City) was built, and on the National Historical Registry...........omg the photo ops were awesome, but all I could think about while touring this very, very large place, were the hard working laborers and how hard, and unhealthy it must have been for them. Made me sad, Joni said it was spooky, but well worth the (no admission) tour. Will post these photos later. And of course, the Ava Maria Grotto, and The Shrine of The Blessed Sacrament were the highlight of my trip/photo ops. Yes, even more so than the unique little cafes and restaurants! However, I do miss Mr. Bertrand, family, friends and Opelousas, returning Tuesday. Thank God for Face Time!
