Thanks everyone for all of the thoughts,prayers,emails,texts and phone calls! It means alot to all of us. We just got home from bismarck. Dad will be having surgery Friday to place the ICD. As i already said his heart is working at less than 20%. We do not know if that means 19% or 16%, but we were told that 15% means dead.... He went from 35% to less than 20% in about a week, so another 5% isnt far off and surgery needs to be done asap. The ICD will not improve his heart failure but it will shock his heart into beating correctly and will help protect him from Cardiac arrest (only 1-2% of people survive this event) and give us more time to seek medical help. He has heart failure on a majority of the left side of his heart (most important side of your heart), but also has damage to his right side. He has the most severe classification/stage of heart failure. There is no cure.
