Thanks for accepting me to the group. Im from Fife, Scotland and started listening to ELP when around 14 when a friend kept banging on about the master. I bought Trilogy and admit I didnt understand it! What were these strange sounds?! I had only heard pop before and never a Moog, but persevered and it all fell into place. Anyway, still listening over 40 years later to the best band ever. Well to be honest, mainly first 5 albums and Emerson introduced me to jazz, classical and their fusion. Never saw ELP but have seen them all individually. Saw Emersons band at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall and a few months before, Carl Palmer (with Shaun Baxter and Dave Marks) at a small local venue where Carl even set up his own kit. Quite a contrast in venue but have to say Carls band won out. ELP on strong guitar and virtuoso bass work was very refreshing indeed.
