Thanks for accepting my request to join this fun group! Here is a video I made of my parents doxie (who sadly crossed the Rainbow Bridge last year) and their cockatiel. I gave my mom the puppy for Christmas and unfortunately, on New Years Eve, their cockatiel at the time flew out of the house and the crows caught him and flew off with him! The following year, I bought my dad a new cockatiel and we always had his wings clipped. Because Belle (the dog) and Kringle (the bird) were always at the same height, they grew to be best buddies. Kringle is not very friendly to humans, but he would always talk to Belle and put his head down for kisses. Belle died the week after I left for a 6-month job assignment in Hawaii. My parents were kind enough to watch my dog Rosie. Rosie was a stray and I did not know how she would react around the bird, but I gradually introduced them and she did not go after him. Now whenever we visit, Kringle follows Rosie everywhere. (We think Kringle thinks Rosie is Belle even though Rosie is standard size-or a mix-and Belle was a mini.) Rosie acts afraid of him sometimes, so he may have bit her on the nose or ear at one time. I miss Belle! youtube/watch?v=Od0it_o2e4k
