Thanks for all the birthday messages. I apologize for not being active much...if at all. I have completed the third Tony Mandolin novel and it is off to the publisher for them to decide whether or not it needs editing. I usually have several typos, so... The final book in the Milward Chronicles, number 5, The Witch of Angbar, is nearing completion with about 3 or 4 chapters to go. Then there is the next one in the pipeline, The Hack, a political, slightly scifi, nerds triumph is a story that explores what would be the reaction, local, national and worldwide if the US national political stage were actually faced with a noncorrupt and incorruptible candidate for the US Presidency. As I have rather extensive state experience as to how that reaction occurs on the state level, the extrapolation is pretty easy to write. Here is the first part of the outline: Two high school nerds, Julius Ledbetter and Lucius Kosnowsky discover they have the capability of untraceably affecting the next presidential election and choose to do so by catapulting their sociology teacher, a former state assemblyman into the national spotlight. Using a homemade laser built from a YouTube video they are able to make it appear that their infiltration into the government’s system is coming from the moon by embedding some of their code into the beam’s pulse. The best a tech can tell her supervisor is that the source of the hack appears to be lunar in origin. The teacher, Ben Jefferson is unprepared for the reaction to his essays and classroom lectures on issues and policy becoming viral and is even less ready to talk to the press regarding the rumors that he is considering a run for the presidency. His wife considers the whole thing hilarious and rather flattering. More later.
