Thanks for all the comments on the segment last night regarding separation of church and state. I have explained this to a few others but i will post for everyones benefit here for those who are complaining and claiming I was betraying my faith by not defending (unconstitutional) civic religion: The separation of church and state was intended to protect religion from the state...specifically to prohibit the state from endorsing one religion (which is what the British did). If you want to celebrate your faith or promote your faith, do it on your own time .... its not the governments job and btw its unconstitutional for a municipal building to put a cross on its building to celebrate easter. Its also unconstitutional for an employee of a public university to insist his players be Christian (or any religion). It is not a grey area: the government can not endorse a particular religion, full stop. I assume all the conservatives upset abt this care about the constitution.
