From Debbie Clark: How did you get different departments to join forces and work for the good of one company instead of the good of their own department? Debbie, great question! This is so important and the answer to this question was absolutely the essence of our success at Ford and Boeing. We came together around a compelling vision for our company. We came together around a comprehensive strategy for delivering our compelling vision. And we came together around a process to relentlessly implement this strategy. Maybe most importantly, we came together around expected behaviors that we believe would maximize our working together effectiveness. It was a commitment we made to each other to work together and deliver the plan. Some people found working together this way difficult and chose to leave the team. And that was okay. From Andrew Wagner: How do you maintain that famous enthusiasm? Andrew, thanks for the terrific question. It is such an honor to serve and to work together with talented people to accomplish something important for so many people around our world. It is so great to feel the true satisfaction of meaningful team and individual accomplishment. And what fun it is to enjoy this journey and each other. Working together always works and is so fun! This is why I am enthusiastic. A reason to smile indeed!
