Thanks for sharing, Alan Griffin, and showing us how big things - TopicsExpress

Thanks for sharing, Alan Griffin, and showing us how big things really are in Texas. Wow! -- what a steak! I participated in a truck stop Tandem Burger eating contest once when in college. Four of us went head to head. One of your biggest enemies is the satiety message your stomach sends to your brain that says For the love of God, STOP! After about 20 minutes into a meal. That is why they say you should take small bites, chew well, and eat slowly. Your satiety message is received with less food in your stomach. We all started out with two half pounders and in the intervening 15-20 minutes it took to order and cook two more our stomachs were all screaming For the love of God, STOP! Two dropped out at this point, listening to their gastronomic voices. I got one more down in tremendous discomfort and the winner managed to get about half his fourth burger down to win. It is a Bucket List item I do not care to repeat, but dreaming of doing something like this, at the Big Texan, is a low-cost and low-impact guilty pleasure.
