Thanks for sharing this Tony Born! I love this book by Dr Jim Richards and I love this quote from the book! This is sooooo true and if more people could just get this concept it would CHANGE their lives!!! I love how Jim points out that we not only have the right to choose but the responsibility to choose as well!!! Wow! Thatll preach!!!! The following chapter from the book Moving Your Invisible Boundaries by Dr. Jim Richards really says a lot: Freedom of choice seems to be frightening to humans as a whole. RELIGION has painted an UNSCRIPTURAL concept of God that implies HE makes all of our choices. This concept of sovereignty, which is widely taught today, was integrated into the church by Augustine. Rather than seeing sovereignty as Gods right to make choices and then abide by those choices, he presented what has morphed into the idea that God can make any choice He desires, regardless of how it may violate previous choices. But the greatest destruction of fatalistic sovereignty is a perversion of predestination that not only removes man from the right to choice, it takes away from him the responsibility to choose. This twist of doctrine distorts the value of Gods true sovereignty, which is the basis of His integrity. God is not a man that He should lie. He cannot and will not violate His own Word! True sovereignty says that God is the one who made the spiritual and physical laws of the universe. They are dependable. We can make decisions based on our knowledge of those laws and trust for Gods character, and never have to wonder about the outcome!
