Thanks for the add to this group! I wanted to share some hope with you mamas, especially those still in the NICU. This is my baby Samuel, he is now 8 months actual (5 months adjusted), born at 27 weeks 5 days, weighing 2 lbs 3 oz. He has chronic lung disease and was on a ventilator for the first 5 weeks of his life. I delivered early due to ecclampsia and HELLP, after having seizures at home. Doctors told us several times that he likely would not survive, and IF he did he would have severe muscular/developmental disabilities. We spent 108 days in the NICU and he came home on oxygen about 4 months ago. Now he no longer needs ANY oxygen, is gaining weight well, and has no developmental delays!!! Dont be discouraged! Every baby is different and doctors dont always have all the answers. Im excited to be part of this group as we continue to go through the healing process and learn from other moms about how to raise this little guy! He makes me proud every day and has taught me what true strength is.
