Thanks for the birthday wishes. On 28 September 2002 I marched with hundreds of thousands of others against the threat of war on Iraq, and in solidarity with Palestinians on the 2nd anniversary of the start of their intifada. Some things in my life have changed in the last 12 years. Some things in politics have also changed. It has got much harder for UK governments to bomb other countries as they would wish. The tide of global opinion has shifted in favour of Palestine. We have built formidable anti-war and pro-Palestine movements that have made their mark on society and on peoples ideas. But it is still necessary to campaign against war in Iraq and in solidarity with Palestine. So, heres to another year of it - and to hoping it is one day no longer necessary!
