Thanks for the birthday wishes! What a great birthday weekend of activity its been! It all started for me on Wednesday night with GHS baccalaureate service and seeing many of our Foursquare Youth participate. In addition, there was an excellent faculty reflection. Then, attending GHS graduation on Friday and seeing an amazing class walk the stage and many Foursquare Youth receive great applause. Both events were well attended by my fellow trench-workers in youth ministry. And both events highlighted amazing musical performances of the GHS Orchestral and Choral groups under the fabulous direction of Krista Kriel and Jamie Bowman, respectively. I felt such a huge sweet blessing as I left both events ... in silent retreat. On Saturday, my children threw a 25th anniversary party for Krista Kriel and me. It was amazing to see how much thought and effort they put into honoring our marriage. The party was precluded by a gift from a great friend, Dara Hockensmith, who set up a very picturesque afternoon for us, complete with food and fancy! We returned home to find that Ashley McDaniel, Travis McDaniel, Hannah Kriel, and Paige truly know how to throw a great party! It was great to have our immediate family together (including Chase King). Seeing so many family and friends sitting around our pool having a great time was another gift. (There are many more we wish couldve come, but space did not permit.) Today, I had the great and distinct privilege to honor 19 graduates in our church services as well as recognizing and praying for our youth team headed to Belize on Saturday. Thrilling! After church, we headed to one of my local favs, El Costeno, with the fam, my dad James Kriel, and the amazing Morgans ( Bethany Dunn Morgan, Ray Morgan, Heather Morgan ). After lunch, dad and I went over to Pirate field to see Cashtown win the first of two games. Way to go Chase! At 4, we attended the recital of Adam Cordle studios where Paige performed a solo and played in 2 quartet pieces. My special weekend winded down with a trip to Mr. Gs and a drive around the soon to be demolished GAMS. And, after finally arriving back home, I received the best gift I could ever hope for ... a walk around the neighborhood with my beautiful bride of 25 years! In the words of Coach Ganes last halftime speech (Billy Bob Thornton in FNL movie) ... Gentlemen, my heart is full, my heart is full. My heart is full, my heart is full
