Thanks for the nomination Kelly - so many things to be thankful for in my 55 years of life - here is Day 1 of 3 things I am thankful for....youll soon learn I am not a woman of few words........ #1. My wonderful husband Bob. For our 6 years together when it was just us 2. Made many wonderful memories. Then when our 2 wonderful children came along & I was a full time working mother with a demanding job whereby you gave me more support than I could have imagined. You have provided a wonderful example for our children so they havent grown up with a stereotype mentality of men & woman roles. You are our family master chef, with wonderful home cooked meals for the kids whenever I couldnt be there, healthy lunches, clean clothes & an orderly house. You have been my Suzie running our household masterfully when the demands of my job kept me out of our home more than you. And these last 8 years of my ill health you have always been there. We meet each new challenge together & always come out on the other side. Love you lots. #2. My first born daughter Whitney Ann Slon. Never thought when naming her that her initials spell WAS. A friend said to me right after she was born - probably because WAS suppose to be a boy. My whole pregnancy I felt she was going to be a girl & so was no surprise & was exactly what we wanted! You have always been a beauty inside & out! You have grown to be an amazing caring & compassionate woman! You have time for young & old alike. You have kept strong family values that I so admire. You have pursued a career that makes you happy! We have always talked that life is long & if you are going to be working out of the home you have to be happy at what you do. We have grown to be best friends who can turn to each other no matter what. You & your Dad have always been close (had to have his hand when Mom had to be Harleys support) and I love to see you making time for each other. Love you to the moon & wish you every success in life! #3. My second born son Harley. My Bud as I refer to him as. I understand how a son just has a special place in a mothers heart. He has always been a character. Love to see that he has grown into a hard working caring man. He too has time for young & old alike. I watch as he works with his 85 year old grandfather in trying to take over the family farm. They each work away at developing patience! With moving back home full time these last 2 years I admire how he still has time for his Mom no matter what! Still a kid at heart, know he still has some maturing & growing up to do that I will still support no matter what. As a parent you quickly learn sometimes your kids have to learn things the hard way but they need to know you will always be there for them no matter what, Love you to death & pray for your success & happiness in whatever life hands you!
