Thanks for your faithful prayers. I got half of my staples out on - TopicsExpress

Thanks for your faithful prayers. I got half of my staples out on Monday. The doctor will remove the rest on Friday. The great news is that I got the catheter removed this morning and all the plumbing is working just fine! PTL! I go to Charlottesville to see the surgeon for my final clearance next Tuesday, the 30th. I am still pretty sore when I am up a lot but not like I have been. I’m trying not to push, but it is tough. I keep reminding myself that it has only been two weeks. Now to the not so pleasant news. We saw the hospice nurse today and she affirmed that in her opinion the cancer is progressing pretty rapidly. Sandy is eating very little and not drinking very much either. The nurse said that the steroid has done all it is going to do and we need to wean Sandy off of it or it will have a negative effect. I asked the nurse how much time does she have left and she said that of course these things are in the Lord’s hands, but in the natural it is all dependent on how much Sandy eats and drinks. The less, then the shorter the time. She said it could be just a few weeks until she goes to be with the Lord. The girls and I all talked very plainly with Sandy and she is fully aware of the situation. We all cried together and have set our eyes on taking care of Mom and each other. We are pretty overwhelmed but we are praying that the Lord either heal Sandy or take her home quickly with little or no suffering. Sandy said she is not ready to go because she has some things she wants to do. We are not surprised. Her “to-do” list has always been pretty full! We are going to help her do as much of it as she can. Sandy is not up for any visitors. I encourage all of you to continue to pray in agreement with us and if the Lord decides He wants her home with Him more than He wants her here, to remember the lively and loving Sandy that we have all known in years past. As we have shared before we believe that the Lord can heal and deliver, but if He chooses otherwise then we will still praise and worship Him our King and God. We love all of you! Robin and Sandy
