Fifteen days prior to my father, Ed Wisdom Jr., being murdered, a man was also shot and killed by the same individuals, with the same gun, believed to have been driving the same vehicle. I have been fully engaged in this case as immensely as I have my father’s case because what is discovered in this case can facilitate formal charges against these individuals in my father’s case. It has been amazing how God, through us NEVER giving up, has uncovered EVERYTHING that has needed to be uncovered to reveal to those who needed to know exactly what happened. Individuals had/have feverishly advised me that my involvement was ill-advised because these gangs have invoked so much fear in the hearts of so many but through my involvement, the diligence of the detectives, the district attorney’s office, and our judicial system over the course of the last 2 ½ years these individuals have been formerly charged and now have a jury trial date set for the murder they committed fifteen days before killing my father. It’s a long/slow process, but through persistence and word on the street, we got the shooter off the street and behind bars pending charges about three weeks after he shot my father. We got the accomplices off the street about a 1 ½ later. They’ve had a while to truly digest what they have done to so many families and their loved ones. The district attorney’s office accepted no pleas, dropped nor reduced any of the original charges, and charged ALL of these individuals, whether they were the shooter, the driver, or the “on-looker(s)” with FIRST DEGREE MURDER. Now it is time for a jury of our people to decide based on some very damaging evidence against the suspects. I’ve spoken firsthand with almost every individual involved in my father’s murder. I’ve seen them all face to face. I encouraged the accomplice most involved and his mother to do the right thing and come forth, give what information he had. I informed him that if he did not he would be charged with first degree murder just like his friend, the shooter. He opted not to, now just as I told him he’s charged with the exact same charges as the shooter. I’ve been one man fighting this battle. The courtrooms are filled with family members and supports of the suspects, as the supporters of the victims disappear after the funerals, the vigils, and the community rallies.
