Thanks largely to having fallen briefly into the world of club DJs sometime around 2008 via making music for licensed London club events, every other day there will be an article posted by someone i met from that period on my FB feed by a DJ complaining about electronic music. (just read one by a guy called A-Trak). You know, if youre a DJ, you dont actually *have* to play electronic music. You could play anything. Thats the point. You could play show-tunes, or cartoon theme tunes, or advert music, or movie-sound tracks, or etc. etc. Electronic music is actually a real thing. Its people with Korgs, Rolands, Moogs, Yamahas, Dave Smiths and other electronic instruments making music. It was a real thing before DJs decided to exploit it, and itll be a real thing after theyve given up complaining about it.
