Thanks once again to our AWESOME 24 volunteers, who made todays parkrun in the sun happen! :-D We had 271 runners of all ages and abilities taking part today... even Mother Nature decided to be kind! I know you probably think I whinge a lot by constantly putting reminders on here, but I wouldnt put them on if the same things didnt keep happening. Todays results were a nightmare and I am aware that there are still a few errors, which I will (as always) do my best to iron out. parkrun is for everyone and all I ask is for people to respect each other and each others abilities. Also by crossing the finish line twice, or completing just one lap, you genuinely will ruin the results for everyone. All of this combined, creates a very stressful aftermath for our volunteer team to deal with. First Aid cover is NOT provided at our event and should NOT be expected when you push yourself harder than you should. Again, this puts our volunteers in a very awkward position. I fully understand that people suffer from various conditions/illnesses and appreciate that from time to time these may cause problems. What I do ask is that on days like today (hot), maybe you could ease off from trying to get a PB and try to enjoy the run. Thank you to the young lady who was carrying her inhaler today, you would be amazed how many people suffer from asthma and dont carry it with them! Thank you to the volunteers who did help the couple of people who werent feeling too great this morning! Again, apologies if it sounds like Im moaning (technically I am)... but it comes with my volunteer role Im afraid! :-) Here are this weeks stats: Telford parkrun Event number 67 12th July 2014 Mens placings: David SMITH (VM45-49) of Wolverhampton & Bilston AC, was first over the line in 16:33 - first appearance.
