Thanks so much all for the incredible birthday love yesterday. I am sorry I couldnt respond till today as LITV was in final full swing yesterday! I have to say it was the best day of my life (Thanks American Authors) - as I started my Bday morning with Oh Honey singing to us at Regusci Winery in Angelos barn, eating unbelievable food courtesy of Chef Angel - and then that moved mind-blowingly (and courtesy of Extremes Russell Emanuel) sitting and listening to THE legendary Eddie Kramer as he showed us his wonderful photos, and gave us a huge and earth-moving look into his production of Led Zep and Jimi Hendrix. Not only did we get to see a fantastic display of his photography and his engaging and amazing stories - but to actually watch him live mix Hendrix and Zep was simply the most incredible thing I have EVER witnessed in the music business. He was gracious,funny, witty and most of all - humble. It was a testament to him to have shown us how he just did the work while producing and engineering many of THE most definitive rock records that shaped every sound in the music world. He joins another legend in my life (@Ken Scott) as another great British gentleman - and another genius that forever move the way I see music into another playing field. As if that wasnt enough - a fantastic lunch with friends at Rutherford Grill in the sun, and then Yuna, The Alternate Routes, @L.P., Passenger and then the flawless (and old friend) Sarah McLachlan simply taking my breath away. THen a bit of reggae love from MAGIC! in the Aloft Hotels Late night Stage. Surrounded by friends and people I admire and revere, by winners who were gracious and happy and warm, by partners/sponsors who were so loving and kind and generous. Yes, I have decided - 50 is just not so bad :). I never expected to live to see yesterday and I felt that God gave me not only the best day ever, but another miracle to show me that His power and plan and path is much bigger and brighter and better than anything i could possibly imagine. Thank you all again. You are ALL my inspiration. You bring me great joy….And so today - this Sunday - my church will be the vineyards and sweet green hills of Napa. I will drive through the sunlight and dirt and leaves to listen to music and think of just how blessed I have been. And I will be praying for each of you to have a day just like mine to hold like a treasure in your memories. I can take that out and turn it in my mind whenever I am feeling down or confused and I know it will blow out the cobwebs of any confusion or question that I have more huge people and fun and wonderful friends than any person could ask for!!!
