"Just another factoid... did you know that Issaquah passed an ordinance on July 25, 2009 requiring alarm system users to obtain alarm system permits and then proceeds to charge you fees ($25-30 at last check) *annually* for renewals? This was under the guise of helping pay the police costs incurred for false alarms but, nope, they charge you anywhere from $100-200 per incident on top of that. Crazy? Yes. The fee they charge is usually hidden, as alarm companies will often lump it into your overall bill. So be aware! Also, be aware that Unincorporated King County residents pay no such fee and neither does Sammamish! So while Issaquah continues to harp on their (slightly) lower property tax structure as compared to Sammamish, we need to keep the total picture in mind... and that means factoring in all the fees that Issaquah has that Sammamish does not, a B&O tax that Issaquah has that Sammamish does not, etc. Informed choices need facts and data!"
