Thanks to Fred Propheter and Mark Schaff for inviting us to attend the meeting of the Republican Club last night. As I see it, the State is dropping the ball on funding the counties appropriately. Money that could be going toward services like fire & rescue has been cut and given away to increase the budget for institutions that are already profitable. There are cuts that can be made to the budget and fund the counties the way they should without the taxpayers having to take the hit. We have to stop being a non profit charity and start acting like a State again. If the lack of infrastructure is an impediment to continued growth in your county, the State needs to help provide it and fast track the projects.
