Thanks to John Shamchuk, Lynda Morris, Vikky K, Barbara Louise, Foodie Alberta and of course, Brandie Nadiger-Harrop, for being a part of something bigger than ourselves this weekend. The Public Interest Alberta Advocacy conference was a meeting place for young and old to discuss strategies and tools to re-assert the public good in this corporatized world. Its good to know we are not alone! Vandana Shiva was amazing as always, and delivered a powerful keynote address with ideas we can use here in Canada as more and more of our commons becomes enclosed by corporations. Its time to take them back - we have a right to clean food, water and air! I recommend everyone look into what PIA does and consider a membership - money well-spent!
