Thanks to Jon Pleased Wimmin and Michael Kilkie for my nominations. Got to say this is an impossible task, 10 would have been better but here goes nothing; Here are the top 5 DJs that have had an influence both on my clubbing days and my DJing. 1. Dave Calikes/Ned Jordan - Fat Sams, Dundee. Guys that first inspired me to take up vinyl. Inspirational. 2. Paul Oakenfold - Was influenced by his music and his residency at Cream to which we travelled frequently. Then I was fortunate enough to play with him at Glam where he turned up, mixed terribly and couldnt wait to go to another gig (I learned then to remember its all about the clubbers). 3. Jon Pleased Wimmin - From gigs at The Rhumba Club to all over Britain we followed him and I learnt the importance of cow bells ;) x 4. Micheal Kilkie - Was in awe of him when I first played at the Tunnel. Top DJ and a real gent. Pleasure to be on the same bill as him these days. 5. Allister Whitehead - His music along with others such as Graeme Park shaped my formative years as well as provided the soundtrack to many an epic party. Another top gent too. There are many others that deserve a special mention too, guys like James Bradley and a lot of the local Dundee guys who taught me the technical side of DJing as well as having the right attitude. I thank you all. x
