Thanks to Maudie23 for the great 5 star review on TripAdvisor! tripadvisor/ShowUserReviews-g297549-d301992 “Hilton Heavan” Hotel is lovely. We booked via purple Travel , flights transfers and hotel. Arrived at hotel early evening , we had been delayed and after the hassle of the airport When we checking in at the hotel we where greeted with lovely cool flannels. At the Airport just want to mention that nothing changes- there is still the agro of the airport reps trying to make you buy over priced visas. Tip for when you land if someone is calling your name out dont acknowledge it until you have purchased your visa from the bank tellers which are located to the left hand side as you enter the airport from landing. they are about $3 cheaper. You can then get in contact with your rep. Check in was quick and we did get an upgrade to a hotel room. ROOM We stayed in room 321, we had a huge king size bed, a seating and table. we then had a balcony with a lovely view of the pools and gardens. We did not experience any noisy nights and slept really well. linen was changed every two days! We where away on holiday with my sister in law and brother in law - hotel made sure we where very near to each other. We had fresh fruit everyday in the room and also tea and coffee making. we also got a big 1ltr bottle of water left every day plus top up of tea and coffee. There was a wardrobe with an iron and ironing board plenty of storage and also a safe is located in the wardrobe and easy programmed. TIP it doesnt take a tablet computer its just a little bit smaller. The bathroom had a bath and a shower over. We had fresh towels every day and top ups of really nice toiletries. There is a proper hairdryer in the room and a nice big mirror we also had plenty of plugs. Also a flat screen TV with English channels. Room was cleaned perfectly by Ezat (sorry if Ive spelt that wrong) EATING AND DRINKING We where given an ala carte pass for the podium Restaurants that we where able to use every evening if we wanted to but we did visit all the restaurants. You will need to wear long trousers if your a guy, though they do provide them if you dont. There is a piano player in the evenings, and meals are cooked to order from a menu that changes daily and if you want something particular they will bend over backwards to provide this. We had a lovely curry cooked for us - thank you Hesham We also eat our breakfast there the first week and did go to lunch there most days. On all occasions our drinks where either waiting for us or on there way! Hesham is the Manager of the Podium and he treated us very well, all the waiters and Chef Ahmed where most welcoming. We had a lovely time in their restaurant. We also ate in the other restaurants the Lotus and the Al dente and we where again treated fabulously. There is plenty of food and plenty of variety. The food was good. Breakfast consisted of cereals, dried fruit and fresh fruit, cheeses, meats, breads, Danishes, cakes and muffins. fresh orange juices, water, tea and coffee. yoghurts pre pack and also in big bowls. There was a toaster available and eggs where cooked to order ie omelette or fried. there is also little beef sausages. Lunch was salads, tomatoes, pasta or rice, potatoes in some form, bread , some pasta salads, fish, chicken and maybe a beef dish. cheese. and selection of cakes Evening Meal in the buffet consisted of a hot area where food was cooked in front of you, also the pasta bars, outside by the pool there was always a BBQ going on and fresh bread being cooked. again lots to choose from you would not get bored. Would like to thank Essam at the Podium and all the waiters, they are all perfect gentleman and went above and beyond to make our stay and our dining super. POOL AND SEA We went to the beach and there are plenty of beds and sun shades, also a bar and wcs . also theres this little lagoon area which is perfect if you want to gently paddle. the water on the main beach does go a long way out ! there was paragliding and other water sports. There was about 6 pools on the site some of them where interconnected so everyone can get near the pool, the gardens are lovely and well maintained. We stayed at the quiet pool which was the other side of the aqua bar. Where top guy Sayeed made our pool time marvellous. we had towel cards that allows you clean towels every day. and the bar is open from 1030 for drinks. r Quiet pool was quiet! no children allowed and Sayeed make sure that this is enforced. There where quiet a few bars to dink from the Aqua bar which at night is a nice area to sit out in. some times there was live music. Also the bar on the way to the beach -this had live music as well most nights. There was also a sports bar and you could also get a drink in the restaurants by the main pool and sit our side. FACILITIES There was also a spa and a gym. There are shops in the hotel foyer and also on the approach to the hotel. worth a browse. We did pop out once to the Senzo mall - but its not a cheap place so dont expect bargains. There is free wifi that you have to sign in for daily and you get an hour per sign in but you can sign in many times a day. Best place would be reception area. You can also buy wifi The only thing and this is the only thing and we did mention it to the hotel staff, was that the public toilets where not as clean as they could be and did smell a bit and really needed a good clean. they assured us that this would be done. so hopefully when you stay these areas are now maintained. Enjoy this hotel, I will go back and stay here as it is welcoming and a really nice place to relax. Room Tip: All rooms looked nice we stayed in main hotel but the garden rooms looked lovely. all rooms seemed...
