Thanks to Patty Korn for organizing a cleanup of Lake Norman last weekend. Patty and her volunteers removed 3 bags of trash, 1/2 bag of aluminum cans (recycled), 2/3 bag of plastic bottles (recycled), a box of glass bottles (recycled), a cement block, a wooden pallet, several pieces of wood, a large piece of a wooden fence (as large as the bed of a pickup truck), a childs fishing rod (which still worked) and a childs baseball bat (both of which I gave to kids in Beattys Ford Park with their parents permission which kept these things out of the landfill), 2 balls about the size of a basketball (not in good condition, one had a big hole), a garden hose, a seat cushion, a large motor cover, numerous shot gun shells, a Styrofoam cooler, something that looked like a small tire but wasnt a tire, a 2’ x 4’ piece of Styrofoam, and a few other plastic things.
