Thanks to all of you who offered good advice on the headlight problem I had with my Rocket III Touring. Looking at the service manual which I managed to download it gave the indication that there were 4 relays but no starter relay, although wiring diagram indicated a starter relay. Ordered the two types of relay available from triumph to be safe, working away from home unable to check. A cold Saturday morning out I go with multimeter and new relays. found the 4 relays as per picture in Service manual. Checked under tank and all around other relays no starter relay to be found. Decided to pull the Flasher relay off and the indicators still flashed but nothing to starter motor. Replaced relay with a new relay and hey presto, headlight now working and bike starts a bit sluggish so think a new battery is required although this is a 18 month old Yuasa battery so will try a different battery next time. Might need to check connections at regulator rectifier as the charge is not constant and fluctuating between 14.0 and 15.2 but that was using a voltmeter plugged into a cigarette socket so appreciate not as accurate as checking directly across battery terminals, guess that the next job.
