Thanks to everyone who came along to Bailey Park in Abergavenny yesterday afternoon to have their cycle’s security marked and chat about cycle safety. The Abergavenny Neighbourhood Team were promoting the ‘Kool Kids Wear Lids’ campaign which was launched to encourage younger cyclists to wear helmets. Any young people seen with a cycle helmet on was given a sticker to wear on their helmet and the team are also visiting a number of schools this week to help raise awareness. We’re pleased to say lots of young cyclists yesterday were given a sticker for wearing their helmets while out cycling and as you can see, you’re never too young to wear a helmet! Wearing a helmet can significantly reduce the likelihood of a serious injury if the cyclist is involved in any kind of accident. Please support this initiative and make sure you and your family members wear protective clothing when cycling.
