Thanks to everyone who joined us at our public forums this week to help spread the word about the hidden gas tax. Here’s a quote from Rev. Gerald Brown, who spoke at today’s forum in San Diego today about how the hidden gas tax will impact his community, and encouraged the Air Resources Board to take a closer look: “This ‘hidden gas tax’ will make everything from the drive to work to the trip to the grocery store more expensive for low-income families and those in the communities we serve,” said Reverend Gerald Brown, executive director of the United African American Ministerial Action Council. “For churches, food banks and other public assistance services, every dollar we spend at the pump is a dollar we can’t spent serving the community. CARB really needs to delay and rethink this plan before it cuts deeply into the budgets of families and nonprofits.”
