Thanks to heavy lobbying by the NRA after the Sandy Hook massacre, paranoid schizophrenics who can get past the low frequency sound waves emitted by web browsers for mind control can legally purchase guns on the Internet, and those who do not launch into spontaneous outbursts with people not visible to others while negotiating a price with the seller in a private deal are still legally allowed to buy guns in private sales. Of course, the guiding legal principle of current gun control laws is that, absent reporting issues caused by privacy laws, the hesitance of mental health workers to stigmatize patients, and human error, only “undiagnosed”, “misdiagnosed” and/or “untreated” paranoid schizophrenics are legally allowed to buy guns from legitimately regulated dealers in states that give a crap about any form of background checks. Thus, if you twist your head around far enough to the extreme weight, the denial of adequate funding for public mental health services for the poor and middle classes can be seen as just another way of standing up for the Second Amendment, because it’s hard to abridge the rights of crazy people to keep and bear arms if you can’t identify them in the first place.
