Thanks to my good friend, Professor Stephen Shearon, a native of the Tar Heel state, for passing along this bit of tragic news. In Arkansas, we have similar worries during the spring each year with our tomato crops. Please pray for these and all farmers...good, God fearing people who are the backbone of our nations agricultural economy. I have also noted that Italy is experiencing similar problems with their spaghetti (and other pasta) crops. It is a meteorological phenomenon (the heavy rains caused by global warming) that can have catastrophic repercussions on the worlds economy.
