Thanks to you, each year we are able to help hundreds of pet owners afford expensive veterinary care that they could not on their own. This is Samsons story and how he got a second chance thanks to you and our Veterinary Assistance Program. Samson was playing in his yard, when he was attacked by two other dogs. The dogs that hurt Samson broke through the fence and injured his leg severely. When his owners took Samson to their veterinarian, it was determined the damage was so extensive his leg could not be saved and would have to be amputated. Unfortunately, the cost of the procedure was out of reach; so they contacted us. We worked with the veterinarian treating Samson and agreed to cover part of the procedure making it possible for him to recover. I got Samson from a friend in May of 2007. A friend had some dogs that had puppies and I got to pick him when he was small enough to fit in my hand. He and I have been through quite a bit together watching each other grow over the years. He listens tremendously well and even though hes a big boy, he thinks hes a lap dog. Hes my best friend and we also have another dog, Del, and they are the absolute best of friends. Unfortunately Samson was attacked by two other dogs through the fence and the damage was too severe to keep his front left leg. He has a long road ahead of him and so do I, but Im sure he will make a speedy recovery and make a perfect tripawd. Without the help of The Bella Foundation and friends and family, things could have been much worse for Samson. We appreciate it greatly and will overcome this hurdle.
