Thanksgiving Week! What if this week were peaceful, happy, and joyous, preparing for the Holiday? What if you were energetic, well-fed and present for your family every day? What if its the best Thanksgiving ever? Yes, it can be! This Thanksgiving, put ourselves first. Remember, If Momma aint happy, aint nobody happy? Thats the theme of the week. Get out your schedule right now. Schedule in your workouts. Schedule in a walk every day, especially on Thanksgiving. Its a great Holiday tradition in my family, and we all look forward to it, even the mopey teenagers. Schedule in Me Time--stretch for 10 minutes at night. Meditate or pray even just for 5 minutes in the morning. Take a bath with epsom salts and essential oils in the water. I promise that it will not make you more frantic--it will allow you to be there for your relatives, friends, or whoever else you are welcoming into your home or visiting. I know you shopped and got all of your favorite snacks and meals ready. Plan, plan, plan....and every morning, look at what you have to do, take care of yourself first, and then launch yourself into all of your tasks. YES, things will come up. But unless the house is on fire or someone needs to be taken to the emergency room, DO NOT compromise when it comes to your plan or your peace of mind. You can be flexible, but only if it is REALLY necessary. Then, accept the moment, take care of it, and move on. Keep your snacks and meals within the meal plan, and then you will be ready to really enjoy yourself on Thanksgiving. You will not be starving, so you wont be tempted to eat five servings of everything--youll be able to really enjoy it, really enjoy every minute without regret or having a food hangover. So, here we go....its going to be a great week!
